Your eAudiobook will work for 3 weeks and then stop working unless renewed online.
How do I renew my eAudiobook?
- Log in to NetLibrary
- Click on the “My Checked Out Items” link.
- Click on the “Download this eAudiobook” link for the title you want to renew
- Click on the “Renew your checkout for 21 days” link
How many eAudiobooks can I get at a time?
You can check out up to 10 eAudiobooks at a time.
What can I use to play eAudiobooks?
Each NetLibrary eAudiobook is available in one of two formats: MP3 format or protected WMA format. eAudiobooks in MP3format can be played on iPods. You can download and play an eAudiobook in MP3 format on an iPod, iPhone, or Apple computer.
eAudiobooks in protected WMAformat cannot be played on iPods. iPods do not support the Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection that is part of the WMA format. You can download and play WMA format eAudiobooks on the following compatible listening devices and on your computer with Windows XP, Vista, or 7 and Windows Media Player installed.
Note: The compatible listening deviceson the list have been tested and approved by NetLibrary. Other devices may work but will not be supported by NetLibrary if there are any problems.
What program do I need to be able to play eAudiobooks?
You will need Windows Media Player 9 or above, Musicmatch, Jukebox 8.2 or above, or Nullsoft Winamp 5 or above.
How long will it take to download an eAudiobook?
You can download eAudiobooks to your PC in two sizes. The smaller size (radio quality) is recommended for those with slower connections. Download times for an average 9-hour eAudiobook take about one hour for radio quality on a 56K modem, or about 10 minutes for CD quality on a high-speed cable modem. Warning: you must choose CD quality if you are planning to transfer the file to a portable listening device.
How do I save my place in my eAudiobook?
It’s important to remember that eAudiobooks are not divided into chapters. There are 3 ways to “save your place” when listening is interrupted.
- Use the bookmark feature (on some higher-end mp3 players)
- Use the off/on resume feature on many mp3 players
- Note the elapsed time on your mp3 screen and fast-forward to that point when you resume listening.
Can I burn eAudiobooks to a CD?
No. If you burned the file to a CD, the file’s encryption will make it unusable.
Can I see available eAudiobooks while searching Provo Library’s catalog?
Yes. Books available from NetLibrary will show “Electronic Resource” in the format column of a catalog search. If you click on the book title, the Book Description page will include a link directly to the NetLibrary page where you can download the book. Not all, but many of our books are available as eAudiobooks, including several language learning courses.
I don’t have a Provo Library Card. Can I still download eAudiobooks?
If you have a card with another Utah library, they may have access to NetLibrary as well. To find out of your local library offers eAudiobooks from NetLibrary, visit this page: http://pioneer.utah.gov/digital/netlibrary.html
If you have other questions, you can visit NetLibrary’s Help Page, or NetLibrary’s Frequently Asked Questions Page.
