Health Sites

Fruits and Veggies.gov
This campaign replaces the 5-a-day campaign.  This site has cooking advice, nutritional information, and shopping tips.  The recipe section is my favorite!

Nutrition Data
This site allows you to search the nutritional information of almost any food – for instance: find the number of calories in anything from an apple to a Big Mac (along with information on minerals and vitamins).  There are other sites that do the same thing, but this one is one of the more user-friendly sites.

Nutrition.gov
“US federal guide offering access to all government web sites with reliable and accurate information on nutrition and dietary guidance.”

Farmers Markets in Utah
To find a farmer’s market in Utah.

USDA Food and Nutrition Information Center
A central hub for government campaigns and informational sites on nutrition.

FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition
For information on understanding the Nutrition Facts label on your food products.
